Excitement is building at Portmore Equestrian Centre as preparations are well underway for the much-anticipated Three Day Spring Show incorporating 2026 Balmoral Qualifiers , taking place from Friday 6th March through to Sunday 8th March. With a packed schedule, prestigious qualifiers, and top-level competition on offer, the show promises something for riders and spectators alike.

From developing combinations building momentum for the season ahead to seasoned competitors chasing Balmoral qualification, this three-day fixture is set to be a highlight of the early spring calendar.

Friday – A Strong Start

Competition gets underway on Friday 6th March with classes from 80cm through to 1.30m. With all classes held in the same arena as the weekend’s Balmoral Qualifiers, Friday offers a perfect opportunity to acclimatise horses to the surroundings and atmosphere early in the season.

The 1.30m class is expected to draw a strong field, setting the tone for an exciting and competitive weekend ahead.

Saturday – Balmoral Amateur Qualifier Takes Centre Stage

Saturday begins with a 1m class, when the spotlight will quickly turn to the Balmoral Amateur Qualifier as the second class of the day and one that is sure to attract significant entries. With coveted qualification spots for the prestigious Balmoral Show, the atmosphere is guaranteed to be electric as amateur riders vie for their chance to compete on one of the biggest stages in Northern Ireland in May.

Sunday’s programme begins with 90cm and 1m classes, providing a steady build-up to an action-packed afternoon.

Attention will then turn to the future stars of the sport with the 5-Year-Old and 6/7-Year-Old Qualifiers, always a fascinating showcase of emerging talent and careful production.

The weekend culminates in the highly anticipated 1.35m Qualifier, which is expected to draw top combinations aiming to secure their Balmoral ticket. This feature class is certain to be a crowd favourite, delivering both quality and excitement to close the show in style.
